Kometen is a gorgeous exploration experience developed by Erik Svedäng, developer of the IGF-winning Blueberry Garden. Filled with beautiful watercolour art by Niklas Åkerblad, there is no real goal as such - the idea is to shoot around the universe discovering planets and seeing the sights.
You are a comet, directed via the gravity of surrounding planets. Utilize their gravitational pulls to fire off in a specific direction, or simply float along, checking out the space scenery. There's a map showing all the planets in the area, and selecting one will bring a marker up, showing exactly which way to go. Along the way there is lots of strange space debris which the comet can eat. Eat enough to unleash a huge speed boost.
It's very much along the lines of Blueberry Garden in terms of exploration. Well, without the deadly rising water. There's a great soundtrack to go along with the action too - it's all very soothing and laid-back.
If you've got an iGummy and think this sounds like your sort of ride, it's available now from the App Store for $2.99 / £1.79. Trailer is after the cut.
