Indie Game Pick: The Tiny Bang Story (Colibri Games)
April 24, 2011 10:00 AM | timw
The Tiny Bang Story is a charming point-and-click puzzle game set on a world called Tiny Planet, which had been shattered into pieces when an asteroid blew up in its vicinity. Your task here is to help its inhabitants rebuild their home by collecting the puzzle pieces one at a time, searching through a variety of hand-drawn locations spread over five chapters in total.
The Russian development team consisting of just two people (Eduard Arutyunyan and Dmitry Sannikov) had spent just slightly more than a year creating The Tiny Bang Story from scratch. It's available to purchase now from Steam, GamersGate and MacGameStore for the PC and Mac, and will be coming soon for both the iPad and Android once the ports are ready for distribution. The 85 / 120 MB demo that's up on Colibri's site features the first chapter that can be played through in its entirety, and Steam is offering a 10% discount off the $15 price if the game is purchased from them before April 29th.

So disappointingly short; I wanted more.

this game is pretty awesome
the game itself is like not spectacular but it's a solid find-the-object type game
what really makes the game is the graphics and to a lesser extent the music
i do wish it were longer but the amount of effort it must have taken to make just this much is impressive; there's a time-lapse video colibri have up of several hours taken to create a single screen in photoshop
anyway: game is pro i enjoyed it

should also mention that the only bug i found was the inability to switch between fullscreen and windowed, so i had to play the whole game in fullscreen
which, considering the art, wasn't really such a bad thing honestly
also it appears to let you proceed to the next area even if you haven't collected all the puzzle pieces in the area i dunno if this is intentional or what

If your game is short, the last thing you want to do is showcase sped up gameplay.

Life's a game. It is meant to be played. A new little steam-punk themed puzzle point and click puzzle adventure game that will delight fans of the game Machinarium.
