So this is the long-awaited Brain-Damaged Toon Underworld edition?

SPOILER: I AM THE MAGICIAN!

Is it just me, or did the bee section get easier?
I see it's still possible for Tom to get past the rabbits...

Oh and by the way, Flashygoodness did a lot of the programming for Tower of Heaven, so I'm not sure if it's fair to say Miroslav handled it...

Love this game! Port seems to be done well. Great to see it getting more exposure.

Hah, I think the hardest puzzle in the game got pulled (the identical screen you had to go through 3 times)

brain damaged toon underworld = greatest let down in video games besides star ocean 3 sucking and elite 4 not existing
Anonymous | April 14, 2011 10:37 PM
yeah the bee part is a lot easier than it used to be.
I don't like playing the game with a gigantic Newgrounds logo staring at me all day. and I'm not a big fan of the new designs. good that the game is reaching a broader audience though.
to anyone else, download the original version and play that one instead. plus you get the added benefit of it being fullscreen.

Anon, the third screen requires you go through it three times to advance. I didn't even realize that was the solution the first time I played it, as I tried different things each time (like jumping and trying to go off of it backwards.)
I had what I assume was a glitch in the first room, as it didn't happen the second time I played the game. The first time I played it, I'd fall through the floor and die at the right edge of the screen. I ended up having to jump over that spot to reach the second screen.
The checkpoint system setting you back potentially several rooms is a bit annoying when you are expected to experiment, and even sometimes suicide, to get past each screen. Unlike old platform and arcade games, it isn't even like the repeated screens actually help you play the game better.

And I quit at the bee section because that section simply wasn't fun, just annoying.
The hitbox of the bee is also weird, it seemed like the head isn't part of the hitbox? Don't know if that was an oversight or intentional. It makes the bee section easier to navigate, giving you more vertical room. But if the game wanted to make navigating the bee section easier, then it simply could have done a better flight system. rather than using taps that either don't raise you enough or rocket you too high.

Bee part killed it for me. Broke any continuity I had going

Got stuck, and watched a walkthrough. Spoiled the ending for myself, but now I'm glad I did. For a game that seems like it's trying to have a message/plot/theme, it has a pretty disappointing ending. Don't get me wrong, I get that not everything is supposed to be blatant, and that sometimes the lack of a meaning is in itself a meaning, but this didn't really seem worth the time.
Really bizarre game.
7 who ate 9 | April 15, 2011 6:53 AM
didnt seem worth the time? it was 5 minutes long. worth it for the end music alone imo.

An interesting thing, though the actual 'game' part really was no fun.
The world and general crazy atmosphere was neat. I sure wouldn't mind learning more about this magician and the apparent conspiracy behind the whole mess.
