The moment a 'gaunt and fishy-eyed' resident of Anchorhead made themselves known to me, I knew this was probably not going to end well. Anchorhead, in spite of its affinity for Cthulu and all things squid-like, is a breath of fresh air in a genre often associated with shock tactics and gore.

Deeply immersive, Anchorhead will have you playing as an unnamed woman in the small town. Instead of leading you immediately to ruin, the game takes its time to build up speed. In fact, it even goes as far as to engage you in the character's daily activities - you'll even have to roll out of bed and put on clothes to get anywhere.

I don't want to go deeply into the game but fans of the horror genre and good writing should definitely check Anchorhead out.
