Now before you get too excited, Locomalito is still working on this one, and the full game probably won't be out for at least another couple of months. Announced via his Twitter account, Maldita Castilla is a 2D platformer inspired by Ghosts 'n Goblins: you'll be playing as a knight during medieval times, on a quest to defeat evil creatures and monsters drawn from a fantasy setting. It features seven levels to play through, an inventory system to accomodate the swapping of weapons and items, plus the usual memorable boss encounters that are the hallmark of anything by Locomalito these days.

Like all of his games, Maldita Castilla will be released as donationware for Windows only, although Locomalito had also been teasing about a freeware Mega Drive port for L'Abbaye des Morts (with new graphics). If all goes well we might even see a preview demo for Maldita Castilla appear on the internet as early as tomorrow night.
