Games grow up so fast these days. One moment, they're tiny and uncertain, forever tumbling over their own bugs. The next, they're out of the development studio and on a digital platform, ready for pre-orders.
In a nutshell, Survivors of Ragnarok is a 2D side-scrolling homage to the infamous Dwarf Fortress. Easier on the eyes and possibly easier on the mental faculties as well, Survivors of Ragnarok is one of the few games I've intently followed on a week-to-week basis. Sadly, however, I totally missed the moment they started accepting pre-orders.
Available to play on September 4, 2011, French Rice Studios have offered two packages for your pre-ordering pleasure: the Settler Version and the Valkyrie Edition. At 3.74 Euros, the Settler Version is the far cheaper version. Nonetheless, those looking to distinguish themselves from their peers might want to hit the 34.99 Euro Valkyrie Edition. As for everyone else, there's the Chicken beta. It's free but it'd always be one update behind the Settlers and the Valkyries.
