There's a new trailer out for Amanita Design's upcoming point-and-click adventure game Botanicula, set to be released sometime in early 2012. The story follows the journey of five tree creatures who are trying to save an offspring seed from their home, which is a tree that's slowly dying because of a termite infestation. It's very reminiscent of The Quest for the Rest, a game that Amanita Design had put out before they've achieved critical acclaim and fame for their work on the Samorost series and Machinarium.

This collaborative effort with Jára Plachý will feature an original soundtrack by the Czech alternative band DVA (you can hear a tiny bit of their musical contribution in the video we've embedded above). Botanicula is set to be released for Windows and Mac first, with the iOS and Android ports to follow soon after.
