As developer Vlambeer promised upon the game's launch last week, the iOS version of Super Crate Box has updated with new playable characters to commemorate the shared collection of five million crates among the game's userbase.

The milestone was reached far quicker than Vlambeer anticipated; in fact, ten million crates had been collected before the update could be released. Following the release of version 1.1, Super Crate Box players can now choose among a roster of five unlockable characters, one of which is Team Meat's ever-popular Meat Boy.

The upgrade also tweaks the game's virtual control scheme, making the jump-and-shoot move possible and adding the ability to switch the action buttons. The next character (who Vlambeer only refers to as "her") will be released after Super Crate Box players collect 40 million crates.
