Described as a 'casual game', Traitor is a simplistic-looking SHMUP that fans of the Kyratzes will mostly certainly enjoy. Though it doesn't deviate very much at all from the expected formula, Traitor has somehow succeeded in making itself something special. Unlike most other games within the genre, Traitor demands you take your sense of morality into account. Will you blow up defenseless ships because you're told to? The decision is yours.
Those expecting an bullet-hell will definitely be disappointed. While Traitor has its fair share of enemies, upgrades and missions, the focus appears to be the narrative itself. There's a compelling story nestled inside this fairly expansive game. If you want a different sort of SHMUP, go lose a few hours to this game today.
