It was a close call, but the crowdfunded SpaceVenture from Space Quest creators Scott Murphy and Mark Crowe reached its pledge goal of $500,000 in the final 24 hours of its Kickstarter campaign.

SpaceVenture is a comedic sci-fi adventure game presented in the style of Space Quest and other genre classics. Murphy and Crowe have already recruited a talented team of voice actors (including Gary Owens and Rob Paulsen), and will use the funds from their campaign to hire a staff of composers and fan-developers.

SpaceVenture is scheduled for release for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms in 2013.
