Skweek was one of the best games released for the Atari Lynx and also a rather unique action-puzzler that managed to appear on most 16-bit platforms. It wasn't the greatest hit of its era, mind you, but it did manage to get itself both a sequel and a small yet most resilient following.

It is apparently said following that will definitely appreciate the iOS remake of Skweek, which likes to call itself, well, Skweek and is a universal and free-to-grab iOS app (without any sort of in-app purchases). The game, though not a direct remake, borrows heavily from its 16-bit predecessor and once again tasks players with painting a blue world pink by having Skweek walk over it and avoid all sort of death traps.

The game comes with some excellent controls, a variety of bonuses, numerous levels and all sorts of contemporary bells and whistles. If only the graphics had retained the charm of the original all would be perfect; besides the sub-par English localization that is. Still, definitely worth a download.
