8888888 LABS has released Gimbal, a multiplayer top-down space shooter in which players are able to build their own ships.
Gimbal includes an impressive amount of customization features -- players are able to upgrade every facet of their ship (including engines, fins, and turrets) and buy new parts using currency earned from bounties. Multiplayer battles support up to 16 players (over a LAN or online), and several team-based modes are included. The game has already earned a dedicated player base, and several community-run servers are available.
Gimbal is available as a DRM-free download, and is priced at $14.99.
