Brain Slap Studio is finishing up work on Hexodius, a combination dungeon crawler and twin-stick shooter for Windows and Xbox Live Arcade.

In Hexodius, players explore a labyrinthine complex consisting of several interconnected hex-shaped areas. In many zones, you'll fight swarms of enemies in brief twin-stick shooter sequences. There are a variety of weapons and power-ups to collect throughout the adventure, and the trailer above hints that the game features its share of puzzle elements as well.

Brain Slap Studio is aiming for a release by the end of the year. Additional gameplay footage can be seen here.
