I always felt that games like Marble Madness should work brilliantly on touch devices, as apparently swiping does feel (oddly) quite similar to using a trackball. Happily, Bow Art's The Balbarian proved me more or less correct. Controlling its rolling Barbarian, the titular Balbarian, is both pretty seamless and very enjoyable, though this could of course be attributed to the visually lush, varied and interesting levels. Possibly even to the well-balanced mix of combat, terrain navigation, puzzle solving and exploring.
The Balbarian can be played on the iPhone and iPad, and despite its 27 levels and 4 worlds will only set you back a mere $0.99.
