One-man studio 7osix, in association with Warbird Entertainment, has released a free demo version of Patch, an in-development platformer for Windows.
Each level in Patch takes place within the confines of a single screen, though players can zoom in to see all of the deadly details. The demo includes the first level and a boss fight, along with a tutorial mode.
"Patch is a game that takes the term 'platform game' to its earlier roots, using one-stage mechanics," developer Jay Kellom explains. "Adopting the traditional platform features as jumping, problem solving, obstacles, and specialized gimmicks for each unique level, Patch takes the genre back to what it was in its glory days."
Though the game is currently Windows-only, Kellom notes that a Mac port is in development.
