The developers behind 2012 hit platformer Dustforce have shared the first solid details and in-game screenshots for its new FPS, Spire.
Teased half a year ago in a Screenshot Saturday round-up, Woodley Nye of Hitbox Team discusses in a new blog post how the game revolves around ascending a "monolithic tower of unknown origin" with run-time generated levels that have "flow and character." Nye writes that everything "from the placement of the books on a shelf to the shape of the walls and floors will be generated with intention."
Fans of Dustforce's snappy movements will be happy to know Hitbox is aiming for a similar movement system in Spire, "incorporating walljumps, wall sliding, and other advanced techniques. The level generation will result in scenes that demand mastery of all sorts of skills, not just running and aiming."
