Sonic Fan Remix developer Pelikan13 is plucking more nostalgic heart strings with his Kickstarter for The 90's Arcade Racer, an ode to Scud Race, Daytona USA and Indy 500. Set for a November 2013 release, the developer promises "modern visuals and car handling models" with 3 different tracks and 3 cars: Supercar, Stock and Formula 1.
The pledge goal is a modest £10,000, but I think those adversely affected by the exchange rate (especially US) will find £15 ($24) a bit high for the Windows/Mac download. Speaking of pledges and perks, this particular Kickstarter's are rather sparse, but I think with some community help, Pelikan can create a campaign to match his beautiful racer.

I certainly hope this Kickstarter succeeds, maybe with some perk price adjustments. Yes, I know, 2 Kickstarters in one day (somehow related to Sonic, no less), but I don't see indie racing games with seemingly such high caliber in the news often.
