Obviously inspired by such 16-bit racers as Super Sprint, Retro Pixel Racers is a single screen racing game with simple controls, nostalgically functional graphics and a pretty impressive selection of tracks. Now, this may not be the latest or best designed freebie I've run into, but it has somehow proven to be a most addictive and enjoyable diversion I keep getting back to. Mastering each track and upgrading ones race car, you see, are too satisfying to ignore despite some obvious control and collision problems.
Oh, and you can also give it a try on your Xbox 360. Also, I'm pretty sure that Retro Pixel Racers is a few tweaks away from becoming a truly great game.
