Polytron has confirmed via Twitter and a follow-up email to website Polygon that FEZ II has been canceled. "It's with a heavy heart that we announce that FEZ II has been cancelled and is no longer in development. We apologize for the disappointment," the developer tweeted.
Polytron's official website has been updated with more sentiment as to why the game was canceled. "FEZ II is cancelled. i am done. i take the money and i run. this is as much as i can stomach. this is isn't the result of any one thing, but the end of a long, bloody campaign."
As for what seemed to be the catalyst, Polygon notes that an argument between creator Phil Fish and writer Marcus Beer broke out on Twitter, ultimately leading to the tweet where the project was canceled.
