Noir isn't just about an era, a dark alley, an unshaved detective or a cinematography style. It's not so much an aesthetic approach, you see, as one of the few moments in the history of cinema when movies were about the lives of the poor, politics, desperation, sensuality, social relations, hope, music and -at their best- the city as a protagonist. Judging from its first trailer Face Noir by Phoenix Online Studios, the team responsible for the game's English localization as well as Cognition and The Silver Lining, seems to be fully aware of the fact, while simultaneously providing us with some gorgeous graphics, excellent music and pretty decent voice-over.
Face Noir, a point-and-click adventure, will be released worldwide on July 18 for Windows PCs and you can pre-order it for $15.99.
