One of the reasons I haven't played a collectible card game (be it digital or tabletop) in ages, is that the vast majority of them have been nothing more but tweaks on the original Magic the Gathering formula and that, well, I get easily bored. Chromancer, a forthcoming indie genre offering currently being kickstarted, on the other hand, promises to be something entirely different; something that will attempt to subvert CCG mechanics as we know them.
Then again, Chromancer will also try and provide us with a sensible pricing model for its decks, a rather unique-sounding deckbuilding mechanic, stellar artwork and a transparent in-game economic model. Oh, and apparently a team of writers who will flesh out a rich fantasy setting.
Pledging will get you everything from starter decks and rare cards to art prints and other physical goodies and, hopefully, a great game too.
