Erhune's Ludum Dare 27 competition entry, Legend of Epikouros, is like a mix of The Legend of Zelda, Michael Brough's VESPER.5, and Jason Rohrer's Chain World. You and potentially hundreds of other people control the sage Epikouros as he goes on one last adventure in his lifelong quest for answers.
You start by watching the story so far, which consists of the efforts of everyone who has come before you. When your turn comes, press space to begin etching your 10 seconds into history. Move Epikouros with WASD or the arrow keys, attack with Space, and drop a bomb (if he has acquired any) with E.
Our hero is a wise man, so he wields a word balloon instead of a sword, killing things by questioning their existence. Explore the map, fight monsters, and try to advance the quest as much as you can in 10 seconds. Or just wander around aimlessly. Who knows what you might find?
The relay-marathon nature of this game makes it a fascinating experiment, the results of which I hope to read about after it's been completed. I also hope that whoever gets the ending records it for the rest of us to see!
Be a part of history and play Legend of Epikouros online, but be sure you're ready. You only have 10 seconds to make your mark.
