In the near-ish future, the Juno Mining Corporation has set up operations on one of the biggest rocks in the asteroid belt, Juno. You're an employee assigned a minor maintenance task on Juno's surface. It's a good thing they gave you a sidearm, because there's a lot more waiting for you down there than a broken power coupling. Zombonauts, to be exact. Welcome to The Juno Incident, Steve Salmond's awesome entry in the 7DFPS challenge.
The zombies are clumsy but dangerous--and they're hungry. I don't think they can bite you through their helmets, but they can chip away at your health nonetheless, perhaps disrupting the integrity of your spacesuit. You're a bit clumsy yourself, having to contend with the low gravity of Juno. You can actually use it to great advantage once you get used to it. I'm not a gunslinging astronaut, but the effects of the low gravity on running, jumping, and firing your weapon all feel realistic.
Shoot a zombonaut once and it hurtles slowly into space before depressurizing and exploding into bloody chunks. You also have a supply of grenades, which have a satisfying effect on a scrum of astronaut zombies, but which can send you flying high above the asteroid.
The controls are fairly standard: WASD to move, space to jump, aim with the mouse, left click to shoot, and right click to lob a grenade.
