brawlin sailor.pngMajor Bueno has never failed to put a smile on my face, and Brawlin' Sailor is no exception. The storytelling and sketched animation far outweigh the mechanically simplistic brawling, but any fan of Major Bueno knows the developer rarely sticks to genre convention. The goal is to use your sailor muscles to rescue the damsel who has been kinapped, and the challenge sets in after realizing how your abilities are not what they seem...

Brawlin' Sailor was the most tedious of Major Bueno's entires for me so far, though. I had to play very carefully in a few areas to avoid enemies surrounding the sailor and killing me. However, the door gag and other jokes led me to believe there could be even more explored with a realistic, humorous brawler, which is a great way to break up the monotony that plagues a lot of games in the genre.

For four days of work, Brawlin' Sailor is worth a few minutes of your time. Afterward, be sure to get well acquainted with all these other fine Major Bueno games, too.
