Arc-Gen Games is a one-man studio building a new action-platformer called Doomed'n Damned. If the name brings images of Ghosts'n Goblins to mind, well, that's intentional. The game is being built in the style of games from that era.
Arc-Gen is trying to replicate the feeling of the old arcade-style action platformers from the past. Yes, you'll often be jumping your way through the levels, throwing knives an axes at monstrous enemies all along the way. Breaking boxes uncovers secrets or additional paths through the levels. Which way you go and the items you find along the way can alter which levels you play. Finally, true the classic style, each stage culminates in a boss fight.
While the gameplay trailer Arc-Gen released doesn't have music, accomplished composer Jarno Stakula will be handling the game's eventual soundtrack. Release is planned for Windows and Mac in early 2014.
