War is an atrocious thing and World War I, the Great War as it was called before WW2 showed us that things can always be worse, was one of the most lethal and pointless massacres ever played out against humanity, meaning that games about it rarely are much fun. At least not when you really think about them, and interestingly this is something Bretwalda Games seem to fully understand. Steam Squad, their turn-based wargame currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, not only presents us with an alternative WW1 setting, but goes that extra mile in showing the horrors of war: stupidly idealistic scores of young men happily marching to their deaths, destroyed cities, technology turning into a synonym for death and the simple truth that in such wars there are no winners.
Also, it looks like it's gonna be a great game too, which is always nice to know. And I do like its artwork.
