Amanita Design released Samorost 2 way back in 2005, so to say fans have been awaiting a sequel for a long time is a bit of an understatement. Samarost 3 is still a ways off, but an important new detail has come to light, interestingly enough, because of an interview about the game's soundtrack.
According to composer Tomas Dvorak, who also did the sound for Machinarium, Samorost 3 feature three distinct planets. Each planet requires a different concept, resulting in three very different sounding areas. "I dare say it's really beautiful. I'm excited about it," Dvorak told Igloo Mag.
Unfortunately that's about all he said about the game itself. Amanita has gone on record with 2015 as a targeted release year, so it looks like the wait will continue for now.
