When gigantic mutated plants with the ability to fire bullets take over a laboratory, the only way to defeat them is to use their own abilities against them. That's the premise of X S.E.E.D, an action-platformer that would make Audrey II proud.
X S.E.E.D has a fairly simple formula. Drop plants down to take out your enemies. Defeating different kinds of plants will net you new abilities through different flowers. There's one that performs a triple shot, and another that forms a wall that stops attacks from killing you. Others might shoot upward, hitting enemies above your normal line of fire. Trying to figure out which plant works best is made even better as your abilities get stronger by picking up the remnants of your root-bound foes.
You only have three lives and there are no continues, so you'll need to suffer some old-school botanical brutality if you want to reach either of the game's two endings. X S.E.E.D is available on XBLIG for $1, and on Ouya for free.
