The aptly-titled Text Based Multiplayer RTS is just that - a real-time strategy game where you build structures and issue orders to your troops by typing in text commands, one at a time. Created as a spiritual successor to Text Based Multiplayer Shooter, this online RTS accomodates up to eight players on a single map, with a simplified chat system implemented for negotiating alliances and delivering threats to other participants in the same game.
Everything you've come to expect from a real-time strategy simulator is here: the command center, power plants, supply depots, barracks for training troops, and factories to manufacture vehicles. Map scrolling is achieved by typing in a direction and the number of tiles to move it to. Sending troops to battle is even simpler, just select a unit and type in a coordinate right after inputting the MOVE keyword. The pathfinding module will do the rest for you, assuming that the destination point is visible and already revealed on your map.
To view all of the available commands, just type HELP and use the MORE command to navigate from one page to the next. Note that the game is still a work in progress, but don't let it stop you from giving this clever spin on the RTS genre a go.
