Barony, or, "Ultima Underworld with multiplayer and lots of rogue-like stuff," as developer Sheridan Kane Rathbun describes it on the TIGS forums, is a first-person multiplayer action RPG with many roguelike elements, including mostly random dungeons. To give levels a sense of a "designer's touch" and avoid feeling "random and bland" the game pieces together maps with special chunks called "prefabs," all of which can be edited by the player.

The game is mostly the work of Sheridan, but it has received some help from Sterling Taylor Rathbun, Ciprian Ilies, and Chris Kukla along the way. Barony is currently in closed alpha and is looking for testers; those interested can apply here. Sheridan also goes into more detail about Barony's development here.
