An attempt at recreating his memories of playing old arcade machines during his childhood days, Ian MacLarty's Gonubie Hotel is a collection of four games packed into a single screen with the same set of input controls. This makes it difficult to keep track of what's going on, though it hardly matters because there's no life counter holding you back from failing over and over again. The game only ends when you run out of coins to feed the machine, which always happen eventually regardless of how well you're doing in any of the games.
The selection featured here are slightly altered variations of classics like Snake, Asteroids, a tube shooter, and a fighting game with two neon-coloured characters facing each other. A silhouette of a person's head will also occasionally pop up and catch players by surprise, which is a neat effect added in by the developer to make the arcade room experience feel much more authentic.
